Bitcoin mining generates 30,000 tons of e-waste

Waste from Bitcoin mining will reach 30,700 tons in 2021, five times more than Luxembourg's e-waste.

According to statistics from research firm StockApps, Luxembourg's population is about 6 million people and generated 6,000 tons of e-waste last year.

In the past, concerns regarding Bitcoin mining have mainly focused on the fact that they consume huge amounts of electricity. However, e-waste is also an equally polluting problem," commented StockApps.
